The weapon is only present during a certain game type. The mandatory easter eggs are one "hidden" weapon, and my standard bullet-hole scribble. There is however two new actor variants, my improved assault rifle marines, and my flamethrower flood. The map holds very little new content, as I couldn't find a good way to intergrate any of it. They do not have a weapons cache or any vehicles however. They respawn a bit more quickly than the Covenant and Marines. The flood spawn on both the elevated cliffs near the middle of the map, as they tend to do in most Sidewinder mods.

Two banshees are also parked on top of the small cliffs outside their base, but the AI cannot use them. The Covenant hold the blue base, and have access to four plasma turrets and four ghosts. Weapons and health packs spawn on the bottom floor of their base, and outside you can find three warthogs. The Marines spawn at red base, and are allied with you. It's pretty much an AI mod of Sidewinder, but the gameplay is fairly good for those who fancy respawning AI battles. The magnum is an overpowered beast, the campaign has the most true sandbox feeling out of all campaigns and it was revolutionary and the sole reason the Xbox was a success.Īgain, I love this game but the aging comes from poorly aged mechanics and how future iterations improve on nearly everything.Sidetracker was spawned from boredom, but it turned out pretty ok. The campaign missions also have multiple parts where enemies just get thrown at you which while future halo's do, this does it more often and in more narrow areas. Customization in the multi-player just isn't at the level of future hall's (not a problem but again the age is also from being compared to future halo's).

The campaign missions themselves have a lot of copy and pasted second-halfs and they are often just too big. The multi-player maps while still fun aren't as good as 2's especially when considering the maps that were added on, even blood gulch was drastically improved upon with coagulation and even moreso, Valhalla. The AR is a main weapon but one that is rather useless, even 2's smg is powerful when used with a covenant pistol and/or another set. The vehicle mechanics have aged poorly, for instance if you touch a vehicle that's barely moving you instantly die as well as how you take regular damage. It's story isn't nearly as good as 2 and 3. For me it's a mix of its future iterations and it's mechanics.
